The task

The owner of a car rental business had a simple but firm requirement: to add and remove cars from the site quickly, easily and from anywhere. Cars are rented out and returned every day, sometimes several times. A classic admin panel means a computer, a password login, forms and uploading photos. For someone who spends all day on his feet around cars and customers, that is far too slow. In practice, the site would always lag behind reality.

The solution: a Telegram bot instead of an admin panel

Instead of teaching him to work with our system, we taught the system to work like him. The client already spends the whole day typing in Telegram anyway. So we connected the site to a Telegram bot that manages the content:

• Adding a car. You send photos and a short description in the chat. The bot reads the data, uploads the photos and publishes the car on the site within seconds.
• Removing a car. One message and the car disappears from the site while it is rented out or in for service. Another message brings it back.
• Changing prices and availability. No forms and no menus, straight from the phone, from the parking lot, at any time.

The site stays fast, tidy and optimized for search engines, and its content always matches the real fleet.

Technology and approach

This project is a good example of our philosophy: the technology bends around the client’s habits, not the other way around. Sometimes the best solution is not a bigger admin panel, but no admin panel at all.

The result

The client manages his entire fleet from his phone, without ever touching an admin panel. The site updates in real time, while we take care of the hosting, the support and his peace of mind. The system is still running today: see it live at xpress-rent-a-car.com.
